It started with one itsy bitsy spider.

Three years ago, a tiny, bold jumper found our daughter and asked to stay on our patio, and I said yes even though I was terrified. Our daughter, who has always loved every living thing, was only 17 months old when she carried our first jumping spider inside and announced, matter-of-factly, her name was “Itsy.” She quickly became our daughter’s tiny bestie and found herself inside more often than I cared for. I decided to help keep Itsy safe by purchasing an enclosure for her so our kitty wouldn’t make her a snack. All I can remember is forcing myself to be brave for our daughter while I stared at tiny, green, and sharp little fangs.
Those same fangs, so small and fierce, are one of the many reasons I now adore these creatures.

Thus, Itsy Bitsy Boops was born.

I blinked, and 3 years later we have over 8 gravid mamas, more slings than we know what to do with, and the most fun and rewarding hobby I can think of!
